Beauty and ethics; those are the two things John Patrick’s eco-conscious line, Organic, seeks to combine. Everything about the New York-based designer’s clothing reflects an Earthy tone and feel rooted in minimalism and the merging of structure and fluidity. Mixing neutral tones with deep, rich colors, as well as directional pieces with classic silhouettes, the clothing exudes the kind of simplicity only found on those enviable women who are always so effortlessly put-together, those for whom style seems so (gasp!) organic. His knitwear is particularly attractive to me (duh), but the entire line is drool-worthy for its timeless aesthetic as well as the ethics behind it.
In 2004, Patrick stepped out to prove that ethics in fashion is possible, with the launch of Organic. The line focuses on fair labor practices and organic materials, and the result is decidedly modern yet classic–two other binaries Organic seems to reconcile. Though his pieces feel current, you’ll be able to wear them for years to come.
